Richmond Borough Conservatives launched their local election campaign on Thursday 19 March at The Bull’s Head, with Zac Goldsmith and Lord True joining members and candidates for an upbeat evening by the river.
Both are national Conservative figures with deep local roots. Zac Goldsmith represented Richmond Park in Parliament, while Lord True was Leader of Richmond Council before going on to serve as a Cabinet Minister and, now, Shadow Leader of the House of Lords.
Just under 70 members attended the event, held in a beautiful riverside room overlooking the Thames. The atmosphere was energetic, positive and focused on the campaign ahead.
As the sun set, Zac delivered an inspiring and heartfelt speech which was warmly received by both long-standing supporters and new members. He spoke about the importance of campaigning with confidence, conviction and optimism.
Lord True followed with encouraging remarks, emphasising unity, determination and the need to work together across the borough.
The evening concluded with a group photograph of some of the Conservative candidates standing in May’s local elections. It was a strong reflection of the team spirit, energy and momentum building across Richmond Borough Conservatives.
Special thanks go to Amen and Thomas for organising such a successful event.
