Grant was born in the Midlands and moved to Twickenham twenty years ago. . He is a company director and former commercial lecturer. His early career was in the automotive industry and he has worked in the third sector as a co-ordinator and fundraiser. He is currently a trustee of SPEAR.

He was previously Chair of Whitton Ward Conservative Branch, and now performs the same role for St. Margarets Ward Branch.

Grant served Whitton as a Conservative Councillor. Chair of LBRuT’s Overview and Scrutiny Committee. As well as Chair of the Richmond Conservative Group.
